AIRBUS GALLEY 2010 NEW CONCEPT The future of galleys? At Aircraft Interiors Expo 2010, Airbus will present a fully operational prototype of their SPICE (SPace Innovative Catering Equipment) galley that has been developed through the strong cooperation with airlines, suppliers and caterers, demonstrating Airbus’ commitment to develop “New Standards. Together” with all relevant stakeholders. SPICE addresses key issues such as galley weight, by saving around 600 kg on a wide-body, and space utilisation, enabling enough space saving at a typical rear galley complex to yield an additional 2 to 3 economy seats. Ergonomics for crew are also improved, Galley Inserts are offered with true Plug & Play functionality, all upper compartments can be chilled, and the galley has a modern design aesthetic. Also at the show, to celebrate 40 years of innovation, Airbus will display 1/20-scale cutaway models highlighting cabins of the latest members of the Airbus family of eco-efficient airliners: the 21st century flagship A380 and the all new A350 XWB, providing a view on typical interior configurations. The stand will feature a life-size mock-up of the upper forward fuselage of the all new A350 XWB with an immersive 3-D film showing inside — enabling visitors to experience the development of the latest new Airbus programme, including previously unseen views of the cabin. Hinter den trotzigen Stadttoren der Altstadt drohten viele Altbauten Valencias zu zerfallen. Architekt Ramon Esteve hat in der Nähe einen Neubau errichtet, der sich äußerlich dem historischen Stadtbild anpasst. Auf drei Etagen lebt Esteve seine Idee des Essentiellen. Das in strengem schwarz weiß gehaltene minimalistische Mobiliar verbirgt hinter Schiebetüren und Klappen die Dinge des täglichen Bedarfs. Ramon Esteves Devise: das Notwendigste ist grade genug. „Die essentielle Architektur ist kompliziert. Das Rezept ist nicht auf etwas zu verzichten, die Formel lautet: das nötigste ist alles.” Der gefragte Stararchitekt zeigt uns seine Wohnung. Auffallend ist die angenehme Kühle in den Räumen. Die hölzernen Jalousien in Schlafräumen und Bad spielen mit dem Licht, lassen aber die sommerliche Hitze nicht ein. Während die Privatwohnung von Ramon Esteve als gelungene Symbiose eines Neubaus mit einem alten Stadtviertel gilt, ist dieses alte Kino in Valencias Innenstadt ein Beispiel für einen anderen Trend. Viele Filmtheater stehen leer, weil große Kinocenter ihre Aufgabe übernommen haben. Jetzt hat dieses Lichtspielhaus ganz andere Präsentationsaufgaben, Lampen und Möbel auf mehreren Etagen. Auch die ehemaligen Büroräume des Kinos sind jetzt öffentlich. Vom Shoppen und Sightseeing müde? Kein Problem! With a large number of reference projects and over 220 transport technology firms, Berlin is the main focus of Germany’s transport engineering industry and an ideal venue for InnoTrans, an international platform for buyers and sellers of passenger and freight transport technology. InnoTrans has become established as an international industry showplace focusing on railway technology. A full range of rail vehicles are presented in static displays on the Messe Berlin tracks located outside the exhibition halls. Isfahan, eines der ältesten Städte Irans, ist heute ein Architektonische Freilichtmuseum. Obwohl die Stadt über 2000 Jahren exestiert, sind die bedeutendsten Bauwerke nach dem 15. Jahrhundert enstanden. Unter Schah Abbas I wurde die Stadt auf den Reißbrett erbaut nach den Vorbildern des Paradises. Heute ist der Große Platz und der größte Teil der Altstadt unter UNESCO Weltkulturerbe.
